3G iPhone is going to hit our shores tomorrow at 12am.
Its time I ditch my 2G iPhone and use it as a MP3 player and go back to my trustworthy N82.

National Day - 9th August 2008

Before I went home to watch the NDP, we ate at White Dog Cafe at Vivocity. It is opened by Akashi and my family and I are big fans of Akashi. The Akashi restaurant itself and Akashabu (Shabu Shabu) serves good Japanese food and damn, it is really good. However, the White Dog’s food simply sucks. I think Akashi should just close down the White Dog Cafe and concentrate on their Japanese food. Well, let me see. We ordered :
- Mushroom Soup - So so, not much taste but not that bad
- Garlic Bread with Cheese - Sounds nice but tasted like normal toasted jiam tao loti (Frenchloaf) without any toppings
- Calamari Fritters - Hard like a rock due to over-frying and the calamari inside is so dry.
- Chef Salad - Normal. Just like any other salad
- Hawaiian Porkchop - Taste normal, nothing special
- Cheese Oven-Baked Rice with Pork Chop - Sounds nice but taste worst then shit.
Conclusion ? White Dog Cafe sucks! Botak Jones/Swensen over it anytime, anyday.
After White Dog, went home to catch NDP. As we all know, yesterday was National Day and the day before was Beijing Olympics 2008 Opening Ceromony. Boy, you got to see the opening ceremony of the Olpmpics. It was simply breath taking. The fireworks was superbly superb (lol). On the other hand, a day later, was our National Day. I watched the NDP from home till I feel asleep, amazingly interesting. The parade has the same old segments for 43 times already, when will they have something different ? Someone could actually write in to Strait Times or whatever to say that our NDP is comparable to Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony. Talk about Paul Lampard. I would like to sign off this special day for Singapore with 1 popular phrase, many more good years ahead.
Sunday - 10th August 2008

Went over to Parkway Parade and cross over to the hawker center to eat the famous Char Kway Teow ! It tasted above average and the waiting time (aka queue) is around 15 minutes and I think its quite worth it. Its SGD$3 and the portion is quite alot. I remember 1 to 2 years back, the price was also SGD$3. Good that here is no price hikes for Char Kway Teow ! If not is really, many more good years ahead.

After that, cross back to Parkway Parade, walked around before eating our dessert at Swensen. Ordered Topless 5 and the Chocolate Fondue. Topless 5 tasted just normal but however, the Chocolate Fondue isn’t that good as compared to Häagen-Dazs. But anyway, for the price paid (1/2 the price of Häagen-Dazs fondue) it is considered eatable
My brother then told me that his friend’s friend would be going to Paris and is able to help us buy Louis Vuitton. Wah, LV in paris is like so cheap after the 12% tax refund (Only able to get back 12% even though tax is around 19.6%). Not sure whether the LV purchase will be successful but if it is not successful, I’ll just buy it myself when I’m over at Hong Kong this Dec or Feb (even though its more expensive but what to do). My mum is considering to get the Damier Canvas MM/GM but I think it is discontinued and the only model available is the PM which is a little too small. Not sure whether they will have it at Paris.

As for me, I think I’ll be getting the Damier Canvas Broadway or the Damier Canvas Messenger Melville. Need a bigger bag for school. Still in the consideration process though. The Messenger Melville looks nicer but the plastic buckle of it spoils the whole image of the bag. They should change it to a metal 1 or something. And not to mention the Messenger Melville is also more expensive then the Broadway. On the other hand, the Broadway, doesn’t have any buckle which makes it less secure. Dilema. Not sure which I should get. I cannot miss this change to get LV at a cheaper price ! Oh, before I go, ….
